What are you doing for the holidays? Probably not the same thing Jordan Spieth is doing. Spieth is calling it a year after the Hero World Challenge on Sunday in The Bahamas. But that doesn't mean he's done playing golf.
In fact, there's an Augusta National trip on the docket for later this December. Jim McCabe of Golfweek noted that Spieth was taking his dad, agent and AT&T CEO to the spot of his first major.
He'll be accompanied by his father, Shawn, and his manager, Jay Danzi, who happened to be standing nearby as Spieth talked to reporters following the first round of the Hero World Challenge. “You can probably feel Jay's excitement right now,” laughed Spieth, who shot 67 to start the Hero, one off the lead. Randall Stephenson, the CEO of AT&T, will also join the festivities at Augusta National.
Spieth also said the green jacket would make the trip. And why not?
If I was the Masters champ, I'd consider quitting the PGA Tour and just playing Augusta every day for the rest of my life as well as the Masters every April. Good on Spieth for enjoying the spoils of his conquests.
